    Save the main emergency number: 112

    The number 112 is the main emergency number in Croatia. It connects you to all emergency services: ambulance, police, and fire.

    You can call 112 from any phone. It works even without a SIM card. The operators speak English, German, Italian, Hungarian, and Slovak.

    When you call, tell the operator your location and what happened. They will send the right service to help you.

    Know the direct service numbers

    You can also call the services directly if you know which one you need.

    194 - Ambulance (Hitna pomoc). Call for medical emergencies.

    192 - Police (Policija). Call to report crimes or accidents.

    193 - Fire Brigade (Vatrogasci). Call for fires or rescue.

    195 - Search and Rescue / Coast Guard (Traganje i spasavanje). Call for emergencies at sea.

    Non-emergency numbers

    1987 - HAK Roadside Assistance (HAK pomoc na cesti). Call if your car breaks down. This is a paid service.

    For utility emergencies (gas leak, water, electricity), call your local provider. These numbers vary by city. If you are unsure, call 112 and they will connect you.
